Analysis for Total Productive Maintenance or thermal error influences…
Thermal analysis is an extremely useful diagnostic tool. It provides valuable information to a machine tool user, allowing strategic plans to be developed to ensure machine/component accuracy over a period of time.
Machine Tool Technology (MTT) provides full CNC/machine tool thermal analysis, which matches component-to-cutting-tool displacement with the machine flow temperature to calculate the necessary offset compensations.
For preventative maintenance MTT also provides non-intrusive thermal imaging to detect potential failures in electrical and mechanical systems/components as part of its condition monitoring program.
Examples of problems that can be identified using non-intrusive thermal imaging include, loose or dirty terminals, current overload, poor cooling of panels and mechanical assets, under or over lubricated bearings, improper bearing preload, and the flow of heat through mechanical structures.
Thermal analysis can, and will, save you time and money by keeping your machine tools operating efficiently.
